Aliza Baruch, Greece

Aliza Baruch (born Zarfati) was born in Saloniki in 1927. She was deported with her family to Auschwitz in 1943, where she underwent x-ray experiments for sterilization purposes over a two year period. She was one of the very few who managed to survive these inhuman experiments. She worked for a year in Birkenau, where she met her husband, Ovadia, who also came originally from Saloniki. Aliza managed to survive the death march and several more camps in Germany. After her marriage she came to Israel where she later gave birth to a son. (4:54)
